Asylum Seekers Christmas Island

ASCI was established in November 2009 in response to the growing number of asylum seekers in detention on Christmas Island. ASCI is one of the few non-governmental organisations based on the Island that regularly visits people in detention and is run purely by volunte ers. Therefore, ASCI is aware of detainees’ needs and concerns, and seeks to finds ways to support those in detention while they await the outcome of their protection visa application.
